Looking back, the most important lessons I’ve learned fall into two main areas: storytelling and continuous improvement.
Storytelling Lessons
One critical lesson in storytelling is the importance of authenticity and depth. My Deadly Sins book, as a fictional anthology, correlates the seven deadly sins with mental illnesses through seven distinct stories, each portraying different backgrounds and the ailments they endure. This approach taught me that readers connect most with stories that reflect genuine human experiences and emotions. By exploring these complex themes, I’ve learned to write with more empathy and insight, making my characters more relatable and their journeys more compelling.
Continuous Improvement in Writing
The journey has also underscored the importance of continuous improvement. From refining my website’s user experience to enhancing the quality of my content, every step has been a learning curve. Balancing the demands of writing new content, managing my website, and engaging with my audience has required discipline and routine. I treat my passion like a job, dedicating around eight hours a day to creating content, drafting posts, designing graphics, and reading for inspiration. This structured approach helps me stay organized and productive.
Marketing has also been a key focus. One of the best ways to market a new book is to build anticipation through consistent engagement with your audience. I’ve learned that sharing behind-the-scenes insights, teasers, and personal stories can create a deeper connection with readers. While marketing can be expensive, I’ve found that a combination of social media, email newsletters, and collaborations with other creators can be effective without breaking the bank.

Upcoming Publications
My novella The Devil’s Disciple and my novel 8-Bit are among the projects I’m thrilled to share. The Devil’s Disciple is a Faustian bargain story about a decorated NYPD detective who sells his soul to protect his family, only to uncover a chilling connection to a cold case involving a missing teenage girl. 8-Bit is a techno-thriller about a video game streamer who receives a mysterious Game Boy cartridge depicting the murder of his babysitter twenty years ago. Both stories explore complex themes, from morality and sacrifice to the darker sides of nostalgia and the tech industry.
Enhanced Educational Content
In addition to fiction, I plan to expand the literacy-focused content on my website. This will include in-depth explorations of language elements, literary devices, and various literary forms. My goal is to provide free, high-quality resources that help readers and writers deepen their understanding of the craft.
Personal and Journalistic Content
I also intend to create more personal and journalistic content, sharing insights from events I attend and the people I meet. These pieces will offer a glimpse into my experiences and interests, further engaging my audience and diversifying the content on my platform.
